arte EXPERIENCE in Zurich is an art + tech hub, bringing together enthusiasts of art, tech, NFTs, Web3, blockchain, and crypto. Its aim is to create a meeting point through a series of events that promote cutting-edge ideas.

This upcoming Wednesday, 8 February, arte EXPERIENCE will be hosting elementum; the first curated NFT platform with a strong focus on historically important digital art and NFTs, for a live Genesis NFT drop by generative artist Gianfranco Chiavacci (1936-2011). The Italian artist is renowned for his use of the binary logic and incorporating elements of the Italian art movements of Arte Programmata and Arte Povera.

For this Genesis NFT drop elementum has worked closely with the artist's estate, and will be offering 5 NFTs from Gianfranco Chiavacci's "Cibachrome" series created in the early 1970s. This body of work showcases Gianfranco Chiavacci's experimentation in photography by exploring, capturing, and repeating the movement and impact of objects in space and time. Some of the NFTs will also be accompanied by physical unique prints, which will be on display during the event.

A self-taught artist from Pistoia, near Florence, Gianfranco Chiavacci started his career as a painter in the 1950s, influenced by avant-garde art. After taking a IBM programming course in 1962, he became interested in binary language and incorporated it in his artistic practice. Chiavacci was dedicated to deconstructing and reconstructing form, creating a unique and experimental style. He also experimented with photography in the 1970s and created a series called "Photographic Researches," which represented pure abstraction.
